The second entry to my blog regards the historic city of Barcelona, capital of the Spanish region Catalonia. As my travels were not solely based in Barcelona I have also included the amusement park 'Porta Ventura' in this post.

During my travels to Barcelona I was lucky enough to visit the Nou Camp, home of football giants F.C. Barcelona. When visiting the Nou Camp I went on an organised tour around the stadium and was able to see areas not accessible on game days, such as the dressing room, private chapel, physio room, media stand, trophy room and even stand on the touch line. The trophy room in particular was impressive as their achievements conveyed the legacy that F.C. Barcelona has built and strive to maintain.
Sagrada Familia
This historic church, situated in the northern part of the city, is truly breathtaking with unique and unrivalled architecture. If visiting Barcelona this is a must see sight as the inside of the church is just a mesmerising as it is outside. For me, this is the most impressive piece of architecture I have ever seen to this date. Not only is the architecture unique and highly detailed, the sheer scale of the Sagrada Familia is truly astonishing.

Dragon Khan roller-coaster in Porta Ventura |
Although this amusement park isn't located in Barcelona I felt it was still worth a mention as my visit to the theme park was one to remember. The park is split into several different themes such as China and The Wild West creating a unique atmosphere in each location. There are several rides that Porta Ventura are renowned for, such as the Dragon Khan, but my personal favourite was the roller-coaster called the Furious Baco. At the time of my visit this ride was one of, if not the fastest roller-coaster in Europe. Porta Ventura is not only known for it's rides as their live shows, hospitality and unique theme has helped establish them as one of the best theme parks in the world.
