To kick off my blog I am revisiting my most recent city break to the capital city of Germany, Berlin. During my brief but exciting stay I visited as much of the city as possible. In this blog I will discuss topics such as the landmarks, cuisine and my experiences within the city.

Fernsethurm Tower |
The city of Berlin is without doubt a breathtaking city rich in historic and unique architecture. It's also home to several popular tourist attractions such as the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate and the large television tower, seen in the photo, known as Fernsethurm. The Berlin Wall in particular was my favourite destination due to the rich historical significance it possesses for the city of Berlin. The graffiti depicted on the wall was also intriguing due to the strong political and social messages they presented. The Brandenburg Gate as well as the Fernsethurm tower were also fascinating due to both scale of their structure and the historic significance they possess.

Due to being on a budget throughout the duration of my visit, my experiences of German cuisine wasn't of great expense nor could be considered fine dining. I elected more for the traditional and iconic foods of Germany, those that are iconic for their originality and history within the German culture. The foods I tried on my travel consisted of Currywursts, Schnitzels and Bratwursts. Although these foods may be cheap I'd highly recommend them for both the taste and the experience of trying Germany's authentic cuisine.
Oktoberfest/Nightlife

Oktoberfest Package (Food and Drink) |
I was fortunate enough to be in the city during the German holiday known as Oktoberfest, something I have wanted to do since I started travelling. The atmosphere around the festival is electric with every native and tourist high in spirits enjoying the fantastic and renowned German beers. The prices were often inflated due to the occasion but were worth it as the atmosphere and beer provided were of the upmost quality. Branching away from Oktoberfest, Berlin is renowned throughout the world for possessing some of the most famous and exclusive night clubs. If you are lucky enough to gain access after the excessive queuing times you will be guaranteed with a memorable night.. Aside from clubs, Berlin also offers a vast array of pubs throughout the city, all of which are unique in their own way.
