London's To Do List

The 3rd entry to my blog regards my trip to the iconic city of London. During this trip I visited many London attractions such as Madame Tussauds, The Emirates Stadium, the London eye and millionaires row.

Madame Tussauds is a life-size wax museum located in the heart of London and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The museum attracts millions of tourists a year with its incredible life-like wax figures which will often have you second guessing yourself. The quality of their work is highlighted by celebrity stunts which often consist of the celebrity standing in the museum pretending to be their wax figure. People often walk by without a second look assuming that they are in fact a wax figurine. The museum is a must see sight when visiting the city of London.

The London Eye + The London Bridge

The London Eye
The London Eye and the London Bridge are perhaps some of the most visually and historically iconic tourist attractions in London. The London Eye offers a great opportunity for tourists to catch an aerial view of the city and it's activity for a reasonable length of time. Being afraid of heights I was at first somewhat reluctant to enter the eye but the experience was actually very enjoyable. Although I only briefly visited the London Bridge it's unique structure and architecture meant for an interesting and enjoyable visit.

The Emirates Stadium

The Emirates Stadium is yet another football arena that I have visited on my travels. The impressive structure is home to the historic North London football team known as Arsenal F.C. At the time of my visit the stadium was relatively new with few other stadiums matching its grandeur and quality. I was extremely impressed at how modern their facilities were which reminded me more of a luxury hotel than a football stadium.

Millionaire's Row

The Bishop Avenue
Although this may not be the most standard or iconic attraction in London, the reason for its inclusion in my blog is that I technically stayed in Millionaires row. This was as my uncle worked in a retirement home located at the end of the street. My room overlooked several astonishing houses and 'holiday' homes. The street, top-to-bottom, was very intriguing as the houses were often designed based on unique themes, the most notable being an Egyptian themed house. During the day tour buses would drive up and down the street marvelling at the grand and unique architecture. The most surreal thing about the street was that most of the houses were unoccupied and merely used as holiday homes.
